CHRISTIAN K HUGHES
About Christian K Hughes Psychotherapist, ACT Trainer & Supervisor
I'm Christian K Hughes — a behavioural psychotherapist, clinical supervisor, and trainer specialising in trauma, moral injury, psychological flexibility, and the application of ACT in complex settings. I began my career as a military mental health clinician in the British Army and have since worked across the NHS, veteran services, and private practice.
Today, I work with individuals, teams, and organisations to apply behavioural science in ways that are grounded, compassionate, and practical — from individual therapy to supervision and workplace training. My approach always centres on building psychological flexibility, resilience, and purpose in the face of complexity.

Clinical Experience
My clinical journey began as a military mental health clinician in the British Army, providing psychological support to service members. Since then, I have worked across NHS secondary care, specialist & veteran services, and private practice, helping individuals navigate complex trauma, moral injury, and significant life transitions.

I utilise a range of therapeutic approaches, including:
-
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
-
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
-
Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT)
-
Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)
These modalities allow me to tailor therapy to each individual's needs, fostering psychological flexibility and resilience.

Supervision and Training
In addition to clinical work, I provide supervision and training to professionals

My offerings include:
-
Clinical Supervision: Supporting therapists and clinicians in their practice.
-
Workshops and Training: Delivering in-depth training on ACT, CBT, trauma, and moral injury.
-
Consultation: Assisting organisations in developing psychologically informed practices.

I have delivered training and consultation for organisations across the NHS, Ministry of Defence, and third sector, always aiming to make behavioural science accessible and applicable.

Organisational Work
Through Acceptance and Commitment Training (ACT), I help organisations, teams, and leaders build psychological flexibility — enhancing resilience, wellbeing, and performance under pressure. My training programs are experiential and tailored to meet the unique needs of each organisation.
