CHRISTIAN K HUGHES

Psychotherapy
About
I am a BABCP accredited Psychotherapist with experience in addressing a wide range of psychological, emotional, and practical issues. I have particular experience working with clients who have experienced trauma and moral distress, and have worked extensively as a senior clinician within a complex treatment service in the NHS, in addition to secondary and tertiary care, the military, and the private sector

Who I Work With
I work primarily with individuals in high-responsibility or values-driven roles — people who may be:
Managing the psychological toll of demanding professional environments
Navigating unresolved experiences of trauma, ethical strain, or moral conflict
Feeling stuck or disconnected from what once gave their work meaning

My Approach
My clinical work draws on evidence-based approaches including:
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT)
EMDR
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)

Our work will be collaborative, focused, and centred on making sense of your experience in a way that’s both practical and ethically grounded. I work from a from a formulation led perspective (meaning the work is tailored to your specific circumstances, contextual factors, and experiences, rather than following a ridgid protocol) and open ended rather than to an arbitrarily set number of sessions. The work is still efficient but the nature of complex problems is such that every individual will vary in their specific needs and goals and as such the number of sessions required is highly individual. We will review regularly to ensure the work continues to align with your goals.
Sessions are confidential, grounded, and practical — with a clear respect for the complex realities my clients often face
Location & Availability
Online - Confidential sessions accessible from any location, accommodating your schedule, without the need to visit a physical office, ensuring discretion and convenience.
I hold a small private caseload by design, in order to ensure my clients receive appropriate attention.
