Psychotherapist & Trainer
Expert Psychological Support for Professionals Facing Trauma, Ethical Challenges, Distress, and Burnout"
Discreet, Psychological Support for People in High-Responsibility Roles

About

I am a BABCP accredited Psychotherapist with experience in addressing a wide range of psychological, emotional, and practical issues.  I have particular experience working with clients who have experienced trauma and moral distress, and have worked extensively as a senior clinician within a complex treatment service in the NHS, in addition to secondary and tertiary care, the military, and the private sector.

I offer specialist psychotherapy for people who find themselves in these grey areas who may not fit easily into straightforward diagnostic labels — people who often high-responsibility professionals, clinicians, educators, leaders, or service personnel — especially where the distress relates to:

  • Ethical strain or value conflict

  • Institutional betrayal

  • Burnout that feels deeper than tiredness

  • Emotional numbing or disconnection

  • Shame, guilt, or moral distress linked to work or leadership

When your work involves responsibility, leadership, or difficult decisions, the emotional cost can be profound — even if it’s hard to name. You may feel emotionally numb, ashamed, angry, or privately worn down. You may be carrying the weight of a system that doesn’t align with your values — or asking yourself whether you’re the one who’s changed. These aren’t simple problems. They are often the marks of moral complexity — and they require an approach that recognises that.

My Approach
Sessions are discreet, high-trust, and grounded in clinical depth. I bring over 15 years’ experience in military and NHS settings, with advanced training in:

  • Cognitive Behaviour Therapy

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT)

  • EMDR for complex trauma and moral injury

The focus is work at the intersection of psychological distress and ethical conflict, helping clients navigate experiences that may include:

  • Emotional disconnection or burnout

  • Shame, guilt, or unresolved moral distress

  • Institutional betrayal or disillusionment

  • Value conflict in leadership or care roles

  • A growing sense that something has quietly gone wrong

I work from a from a formulation led perspective (meaning the work is tailored to your specific circumstances, contextual factors, and experiences, rather than following a ridgid protocol) and open ended rather than to an arbitrarily set number of sessions.  The work is still efficient but the nature of complex problems is such that every individual will vary in their specific needs and goals and as such the number of sessions required is highly individual.  We will review regularly to ensure the work continues to align with your goals.

Sessions are confidential, grounded, and practical — with a clear respect for the complex realities my clients often face.

Who I Work With
While I work with people from many walks of life,
I offer specialist psychotherapy for professionals who need space to think, feel, and make sense of their experience without judgment or oversimplification. My clients include:

  • Senior clinicians and NHS leaders

  • Military veterans and service personnel

  • Educators and pastoral leads

  • People in high-stakes or ethically compromised organisations

  • Leaders facing burnout or value-conflict at work
