Online Individual Therapy Across the UK

I offer individual therapy online across the UK via Zoom. The approach, structure, and quality of the work are the same as in-person sessions — the research supports online delivery across the range of conditions I work with, and for many people the flexibility of working from home makes it easier to attend consistently and to integrate the between-session practice that produces lasting change.

If you are looking for information about a specific difficulty, you will find pages for common presenting problems in the menu bar.

What I Work With

I work with adults across a wide range of psychological and emotional difficulties, including:

  • Anxiety difficulties — including generalised anxiety and chronic worry, health anxiety, social anxiety, panic, and OCD and intrusive thoughts.

  • Trauma and PTSD — including single-incident trauma, complex and relational trauma, and traumatic bereavement.

  • Depression and low mood — including recurrent depression, persistent low mood, and depression entangled with anxiety or other difficulties.

  • Bereavement and grief — including complicated grief and loss involving traumatic circumstances.

  • Shame, guilt, and self-criticism — often present alongside other difficulties and sometimes the primary focus of the work.

  • Relationship difficulties (individual) — working with patterns in relationships from an individual rather than couples perspective.

Many people's difficulties do not fit neatly into a single category or diagnostic label. This is common rather than unusual, and it is one reason the work always begins with a careful individual assessment rather than an assumed protocol. The aim is to understand your specific situation, not to slot you into a pre-existing framework.

How I Work

My approach is cognitive behavioural, formulation-led, and draws on CBT, EMDR, ACT, and CFT depending on what the assessment indicates is most relevant to your situation.

The formulation is the foundation: before any active treatment begins, we develop a shared understanding of what has contributed to the difficulty, what is maintaining it now, and what matters to you that it is getting in the way of. That understanding shapes the direction and pace of everything that follows, and it means the work is tailored to you rather than generic.

From there, sessions are structured and active. The aim is not insight alone — understanding why something is happening matters, but lasting change requires doing things differently, and the work is oriented toward that from the start. Between-session practice is part of the process, and progress is reviewed regularly so that the direction adjusts as needed.

Format: Weekly 60 minute online Zoom sessions available across the UK.
